Video: Seven-day NHS plans a 'recipe for disaster' for general practice, warns RCGP chair

Health secretary Jeremy Hunt's 'new deal' for GPs - with its focus on seven-day NHS services - is making it 'virtually impossible' to recruit and retain GPs, RCGP chairwoman Dr Maureen Baker has warned. Watch the video from her speech below.

Speaking at the RCGP annual conference 2015 in Glasgow, Dr Baker hit out at seven-day GP plans, and NHS leaders who remain stuck in the 20th century - and called on chancellor George Osborne to deliver a plan to shift 11% of NHS funding into general practice.
