Video: Junior doctors must win or GPs will be next, LMC leader warns

Striking junior doctors are a 'bulwark' between the government and other workers, a GPC member has told an east London strike rally.

Tower Hamlets LMC and BMA chairwoman and Unite/MPU GPC rep Dr Jackie Applebee told striking junior doctors they 'have to win'.

'The rest of us know that if you don't win - you're the bulwark between us and the government - if you don't win, they'll be coming for us next. So we are right behind you,' she said.

GPonline revealed today that thousands of GP partners are willing to follow the example set by junior doctors by resigning en masse later this year unless the government delivers an emergency funding package for the profession.
