The DoH announced that community pharmacist Ash Soni, Dr Frank Atherton (a public health director at North Lancashire Teaching PCT), and Anthony McKeever (director of commissioning at Bedfordshire PCT) will join the other members on the forum.

The forum is chaired by former RCGP chairman Professor Steve Field.

The DoH announcement follows a letter sent by the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee (PSNC) to Andrew Lansley and Professor Field calling for a pharmacy representative on the Panel.

But a DoH spokeswoman said the latest members have been announced after the main group because they have only just confirmed that they would like to take part. She said that no new members would be announced.
