Shot honeymoon GP buried

The trainee GP shot dead in Antigua has been buried, with her husband, at the church where they married just a month ago.

Dr Catherine Mullany, 31, and her husband Ben were laid to rest on Wednesday at St John the Evangelist Church in Cilybebyll, near Ponterdawe, South Wales.

The couple were attacked in their apartment on the last day of their honeymoon earlier in the month.

Dr Mullany was due to start work as a GP registrar next month at the Tabernacle Street Surgery in Skewen, South Wales.

South Wales police are assisting Antiguan police.

Two unnamed women appeared in court on Antigua yesterday charged over stolen goods belonging to Ben and Catherine Mullany.
