Royal College of Nursing welcomes report urging tackling of malnutrition

A report to highlight the urgent need to tackle malnutrition has been welcomed by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN).

Commenting on the launch of 'Combating Nutrition: Recommendations for Action', published by the British Association for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, Dr Peter Carter, RCN chief executive and general secretary, said: ‘We fully support the recommendations and echo the call for children and adults in all settings to be screened and monitored for malnutrition.

'It is vital that appropriate screening equipment and training is provided for all health and social care workers.’
