Review Body awards practices 0.2 per cent

The DoH today backed the Review Body’s recommendations for a 0.2 per cent income increase for practices in 2008/9.

However, practices in England and Scotland will have a top up and receive a 1.5 per cent increase for 2008/9 because of the backing for extended hours.

Practices in Wales have yet to hear whether they will receive the 1.5 per cent and in Northern Ireland only the 0.2 per cent has been agreed.

The 0.2 per cent is the result of a 2.7 per cent increase to global sums and an MPIG freeze.

A three-year pay deal has been agreed for NHS Agenda for Change staff including nurses. This includes a 2.75 per cent increase in 2008/9, 2.4 per cent in 2009/10 and 2.25 per cent in 2010/11.
