Results of readers' votes on motions

LMC representatives may not have wanted to suspend Choose and Book but voters in our poll disagreed - 82 per cent thought it should be suspended.

Our poll asked GP readers to vote on motions at the LMCs conference.

Voters also thought the GPC should be censured for inadequate leadership over the pay freeze (83 per cent) but this was not backed by conference.

A motion expressing serious concerns about the effectiveness of the GPC/BMA as a trade union was lost at conference but backed by 87 per cent in our poll.

While 70 per cent of GP readers thought GPs should no longer fund the GMC, this was taken as a reference by LMCs.

A motion that GPC should negotiate a variation in flu vaccine target payment calculation in years when the supply is universally delayed was backed at conference and our poll. And 96 per cent thought practices should charge for services unavailable on the NHS. This was also backed at conference.
