More practices extend hours in England

More than seven in 10 practices in England are now open extended hours, according to DoH figures.

The statistics for the end of January show that 71.1% of the country’s 8,258 practices now open longer.

This compares with 68.9% at the end of December.

A total of 97.4% of commissioners have achieved the operating framework aim of 50% of their practices offering extended hours. This is up from 96.7% in December.

None of the 39 practices in Western Cheshire PCT are offering extended hours.
