Poll: Does the 10% statin target threaten the QOF's credibility?

The NICE committee that recommends new QOF indicators has decided that GPs should be 'mandated' through the framework to prescribe statins to all patients with a 10% 10-year risk of cardiovascular disease.

The committee decided to recommend the target for inclusion in the QOF despite opposition from its GP members. Committee chairman Professor Daniel Keenan said evidence for the benefits of statins to patients with 10% risk was clear.

But the GPC has previously warned that the target would risk undermining the credibility of the quality framework. Cast your vote below.
