Watchdog to release findings of largest survey of patient experience in NHS hospitals
On Tuesday 15 May, under embargo until Wednesday 16, the Healthcare Commission will release the findings of the 2006 Acute Inpatient Survey. The experiences and opinions of more than 80,000 hospital patients from 167 acute and specialist trusts were collected in one of the biggest surveys of its kind.
Patients answered questions about a range of issues including hospital food, mixed-sex accommodation, waiting times and cleanliness. Media will be sent a private URL on Tuesday, through which they can access all media materials and spreadsheets detailing percentage responses to each question for each trust.
