PBC groups dominate integrated care shortlist

Doctor-led organisations such as practice based commissioning groups look set to dominate the new integrated care organisations (ICOs).

Department of Health

The DoH has unveiled a shortlist of 37 organisations that will have a chance to develop pilot ICOs.

More than a dozen of these are PBC groups or clinician-led social enterprise schemes.

The bulk of the remainder are being developed by PCTs or foundation trusts.

Just four of the shortlisted organisations are from the private sector.
