Patients will be offered the opportunity to write reviews of their doctors on a new website, to be announced this week by Patricia Hewitt.
According to the Sunday Times, the site will provide patients with a ‘consumer-friendly guide’ to GPs in the UK and allow them to make more informed decisions about the where they can get the best treatments.
The Government wants patients to report their experiences, but admits that some moderation is required due to the possibility of libellous statements.
The website is scheduled to launch this summer and will begin with hospitals. The review process will then extend to GPs.
