His statement comes after NHS Employers admitted trusts were struggling to pay this year’s settlement.

The Times
reports today that trusts may not be able to fund the 2.2% pay award for the third year of the deal due to the current economic uncertainty.

‘I would like to reassure NHS staff across the country that we will honour the three-year pay deal in full. It is a fair and balanced agreement which provides stability for the NHS and its staff. There is no question of it being reopened,’ said Mr Johnson.
