Nurses and pharmacists more trusted than doctors

Nurses and pharmacists are professions more trusted than doctors, according to a Reader's Digest survey.

The poll of 1,700 UK residents found that 95% trusted nurses this year compared with 94% in 2007.

The figures for pharmacists were 95% in 2009 down 1% from 2007.

Doctors' trust rating fell 4% to 87% in 2009.

A total of 20 professions were featured in the survey. Most trusted profession was firefighters (98%), least trusted politicians (5%). Journalists came 17th on 14%.
