News in brief: Tick risk to holiday-makers

UK GP surgeries are likely to see patients returning from holidays in Europe with potentially life-threatening tick-borne encephalitis (TBE), according to the world’s leading experts on the disease. The International Scientific Working Group on TBE warns the viral disease, caused by the bite of an infected tick, has spread to 27 countries.
