News in brief: Patients challenge APMS plan

A PCT planning to offer only alternative provider medical service (APMS) contracts to run two PCT-run practices in Staplehurst, Kent, has opened up the tendering process to GMS and PMS bidders following opposition from residents. Residents are being consulted about whether the Rose Cottage Surgery and Guelder Rose Medical Practice should merge.
