News in brief: Milestone for NHS LIFT

The NHS last week opened the hundredth new health centre built under the government’s NHS LIFT programme. The scheme is aimed at improving services in some of England’s most deprived areas. Over 70 further NHS LIFT health centres and surgeries are under construction. In the last five years over 3,000 GP surgeries have been refurbished or replaced, according to the DoH.
