News in brief: GP rewarded for his contribution to health services

An east London GP received an award at the House of Lords from former health minister Lord Warner for his contribution to health services. Dr Bhupendra Sinha, of the Birchdale Road Medical Centre in Forest Gate, provides health awareness clinics and health checks at mosques and temples at weekends and raised funds for causes including victims of recent earthquakes in Pakistan.
