Eighteen months ago a nine bed unit opened at Elswick Hall in Gloucester Terrace, Elswick, Newcastle, for young people suffering from neurodisabilities including brain trauma, multiple sclerosis, spinal injuries, Parkinson’s disease and Huntington’s disease. Continuing and short term care for the residents has been available in the specially created unit.

Such has been the demand for places that now Elswick owners Four Seasons Health Care, one of the UK’s leading independent healthcare companies, have opened a second unit of nine beds, offering care for people with the same conditions.

The unit has been refurbished to a high standard with contemporary furniture and décor throughout the bedrooms and spacious lounge/diner. Large screen LCD TV’s are to be found in the unit, plus new bathing facilities.

Commenting Manager Sandra Smith said “It’s a reflection of the level of need in the area for people from 18 to 65 years who need care, support and rehabilitation that has promoted us to open this second unit”.

“It’s important for both the clients themselves and their relatives and carers that we are able to offer professional care and support, in the appropriate surroundings, for these people suffering neurodisabilities”.
