Letters, calls and emails: Why aren't solicitors pilloried in the press?

GPs overpaid?

I have just received a bill from my solicitor (for a non-medical problem) and find that I have to work for six hours for my local out-of-hours service to cover an hour's worth of solicitor's time.

Are we really overpaid? It is interesting that lawyers make up a large proportion of the government but medics, apart from the occasional surgical peer, do not.
