Letters, calls and emails: Professor should test alternative therapies

Dear Editor

Instead of Professor Edzard Ernst criticising the research done on alternative therapies, could you suggest to him that a ‘director of complementary medicine’ could organise some proper trials of his own?

Preferably ones that seek the advice of complementary therapists themselves to avoid errors like that made in his research which showed that arnica, used incorrectly, does not work.
