Letters, calls and emails: Not all DoH computer innovations are bad

Dear Editor

As I remember we are also supposed to whistleblow faults in the NHS in the name of quality improvement.

The biggest waste of space in my lifetime is Choose and Book, with no competitors within sight.

However, I would have some reservations about not cooperating with the Spine since one of its relatives, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight clinical data repository, saves me tons of time in being able to access patients’ hospital results when they’ve been discharged with little or no information yet again.

Putting electronic prescribing on the back burner would not harm patients and could be another good target. With a national shortage of GPs in three years’ time, and many like me retiring, there is no good will left in the tank.
