Letters, calls and emails: GPs’ 10K run to promote health and aid orphans

Dear Editor

I hope some GP readers might be interested in taking part in a charity health promotion event that some East Midlands GPs are putting on.

On 9 June a newly formed ‘GP cluster’ is staging a 10K race in which local GPs have committed to run along with their patients.

GPs and health professionals will lead by example to promote health through exercise. Profits will go to the Kenyan Orphan Project, a charity run by Nottingham medical students.

Teams from secondary care trusts will also be taking part and we would welcome entries from GP teams and individuals from other areas.

There will be trophies, medallions for all finishers and fun attractions for all the family.
