Letters, calls and emails: Access to secondary care is the problem

Dear Editor

The problem is not access to GPs; it's access to secondary care.

Choose and Book has made all hospital consultants see patients within two weeks but, as a consequence, any follow-up is two years later.

More walk-in centres will enable all to be told to see a GP next day, so why ask GPs to work late?

When will the dynamic duo of health advisers look out of the office and see that in the real world primary care is doing a great job and secondary care is not and is only fit for emergency work?
