Dr Peter Ilves (GP, 2 June) says if we are going to give choice in the NHS, patients should have both Choose and Book and alternative therapies.
Disproved and placebo therapies such as homoeopathy should not be paid for by the taxpayer for the whimsical demand by those shouting for choice.
Worse still, real therapies are being denied to the suffering patients because of cash limits.
The nation should come to terms with the idea that the NHS is not a cornucopia.
Where will it end? Homoeopathy, aromatherapy, acupuncture, glass pyramid therapy, meditation, communal singing, hand holding therapy, hugging (God save me), magnetology, brass bangles, reflexology, iridology and anyotherology.
