With regards to the letter 'Changes to ordering oxygen supply' (GP, 17 February), my practice has an electronic version of the home oxygen order form (HOOF), incorporated into our EMIS system.
Anyone can download it from www.calendrica.com/hoof or www.eaglehousesurgery.com/calendrica/hoof.
This is not just a simple electronic form: it takes the form of a wizard, similar to those used in Microsoft products. The wizard takes the GP or nurse responsible for filling out the form through a series of steps.
I read through the literature on the primary care contracting website to see what 'reasonable' practice is and have added helpful hints.
The wizard automates the HOOF form filing as much as possible and has been very well received on doctors.net.uk.
My slogan is 'I did this so you don't have to'.
