I'll be your bartender for the night

With about 4,000-5,000 drinks in its database, this site is a dream come true for any budding barman.

www.thevirtualbar.com

You can search by drink type including non-alcoholic drinks, by ingredient from Advocaat to Zima, or by name from A Day at the Beach to Zweerts Killer.

You can go for a random recipe or look at favourites that you have stored.

My favourite, however, is the Bar Stock Search. This allows you to select the ingredients you have and gives a list of drinks you can create. From just 12 items I can make 94 different drinks!

Further sections include good advice on stocking your bar, glassware, tasting tips, drinking games, bar tricks, toasting speeches and international toasting phrases. There is also a hangover section, by Dr I M Bibe. The hangover description seems fairly accurate and there is even a spot on sensible drinking.

The site layout is simple but has everything you need.
