Help the Aged

In response to a report by the NHS Alliance revealing NHS patients are regularly put at risk by hospitals who delay sending information to GPs on discharge, Sophie Davison, spokesperson for Help the Aged, said:

"The implication of this is disastrous for older people who are the single biggest group of users of NHS services.

"The Government is grossly compromising the health and welfare of many sick, frail and vulnerable patients at a time when they need support to get better. Instead of having their safety put first, older patients are placed in grave danger of avoidable re-admission and even death because of careless hospital procedures on discharge."
