Karen Reissmann, a nurse at the Manchester Mental Health Trust has launched an appeal after her employment was terminated last month. Unison has pledged to put ‘maximum effort into appealing the case and ensuring justice is done’.
In a statement, the trust’s chief executive Sheila Foley refused to comment on the case because the appeal is pending. But she said negotiations to end the strikes were unlikely to make progress unless union members dropped their demand for Ms Reissmann to be reinstated.
