Half of practices given go-ahead to upload summary care records

Connecting for Health has approved EMIS LV for use with the summary care record (SCR).

The move means that the 45% of English practices that use the system now have the ability to begin uploading their patients' SCRs.

Connecting for Health says its SCR implementation team will now begain working with those PCTs that use the system.

Dr Gillian Braunhold, clinical director of the SCR programme for Connecting for Health, said the approval would 'enable proper planning for SCR roll out. We now are technically able to create an SCR for the majority of the population'.

iSoft's Synergy system and TPP's SystmOne have also received full roll out approval.

But INPS's Vision system has achieved only limited roll out approval.
