GPs rally against DoH handling of NHS

Thousands of health professionals including GPs turned out last weekend at rallies across the UK to protest about DoH handling of the NHS.

Protesters spoke out about the dangers of growing private involvement in the NHS and the impact of cuts to tackle trusts’ financial deficits.

The events were under the banner of NHS Together, a coalition of health unions and staff associations including the BMA.

GPC deputy chairman Dr Laurence Buckman said: ‘The NHS won’t be kept public unless we can raise public awareness.’
