GP recruitment video launches 'nothing general about general practice' campaign

A GP recruitment campaign video led by Health Education England, with support from the RCGP, BMA, and NHS England shows a GP filling in a form to help a patient go skydiving.

Dr Maureen Baker: video aims to change perception of general practice

The video is part of a campaign that aims to boost numbers of young doctors choosing GP careers by demonstrating that there is 'nothing general about general practice'.

Launching the campaign, RCGP chairwoman Dr Maureen Baker said: ‘We hope this video tackles the perception that general practice is not as exciting as other medical specialties. Nothing could be further from the truth.'

The recruitment campaign also launched a poster earlier today.
