Members of the GP team, which also produces GPonline.com and Medeconomics.co.uk, attended the prestigious event in central London, where the winners were announced.

The GP iPad edition was also a finalist in the Digital Magazine of the Year category, and the Medeconomics website was a finalist in the digital Innovation of the Year category.

The judges said: 'This iPad App is a great resource for busy GPs at a time of tumultuous change for the NHS in England.

'It has a nice simple design, is easy to navigate, and incorporates sophisticated bookmarking and note-taking features, as well as the ability to search across different editions.

'The fantastic reader reviews show just how much this app has delighted its audience, and clearly it has delighted our judges as well.'

Five star reviews from GP readers

The fully interactive app has been rated between 4 and 5 stars on the Apple Newsstand since launch in December 2012, and received more than 250 ratings from users.

Special CPD-friendly features include bookmarking, notetaking, sharing and searching across different issues.

Our GP reader reviews have included: 'I think it is one of the best magazine apps out there!', 'Exceptionally easy to use and great to keep on top of logging CPD credit. Five stars indeed.'

Your fortnightly editions of GP are available on the app the Friday before Monday print publication. You can also win the latest mini iPad by entering our latest competition.
