Fourth #nothinggeneral GP recruitment film features child mental health

The latest GP recruitment video released by Health Education England as part of its 'nothing general about general practice campaign' features GP support for young people's mental health.

GP recruitment campaign: #nothinggeneral about general practice

The film is the fourth of six made to increase the take up of GP trainee places in this year's November/December round.

Prime minister David Cameron has pledged to recruit an extra 5,000 GPs by 2020, but one in five GP trainee posts were vacant after two rounds of recruitment this year.

Latest #nothinggeneral film

The new film focuses on young people's mental health and a GP's role in helping a child with anxiety to cope at school.

The 'nothing general about general practice' campaign came in for some criticism via social media when the first film focused on signing a consent form for a cancer patient to skydive.

GPonline revealed that the campaign cost HEE over £100,000.
