Darzi appoints sixth GP to review team

Surgeon and health minister Lord Ara Darzi has appointed a sixth GP to his review team to look at extending practice opening hours.

Dr James Kingsland, National Association of Primary Care chairman, will serve alongside BMA Council member Dr Sam Everington, NHS Alliance chairman Dr Michael Dixon, outgoing RCGP chairman Professor Mayur Lakhani, former head of the Improvement Foundation Dr John Oldham and Dr David Colin-Thome, the DoH’s national clinical director for primary care.

The final review will be published in June 2008.
