Conservatives choose GP to fight Berkshire seat

The Conservatives have selected a GP as their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Bracknell in Berkshire.

Phillip Lee has worked at surgeries in Finchampstead, Bracknell and Wokingham and continues to undertake sessions for the East Berkshire out-of-hours service.

He said: ‘My work as a family doctor in Finchampstead and Bracknell has given me many insights into the concerns that local people have about many issues. It has already given me the privilege of meeting many local people face to face.

‘My work as a doctor has further strengthened my Conservative beliefs - the value of personal responsibility, the significance of a good education and the great importance of strong families for the health of any community.'

Current Conservative MP for Bracknell Andrew Mackay announced his intention to step down this year at the height of the MPs' expenses scandal.
