Cartoon: Will the world be malaria-free in 15 years?

Malaria will be almost wiped out in the next 15 years, and the disease will be completely eliminated in South East Asia, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared.

In its 2015-2030 malaria elimination strategy, the WHO said it planned to cut incidences of malaria by 40% by 2020 and 90% by 2030.

Malaria will be completely eliminated in all Greater Mekong Sub region countries – which include Thailand, Cambodia and parts of China – by 2030, it said.
