Cartoon: Could red wine improve type 2 diabetes patients' health?

A daily glass of red wine could improve the health of type 2 diabetes patients, results presented at the European Congress of Obesity in Prague suggest.

Researchers tracked 224 patients for two years and took note whether they drank red wine, white wine or water with their evening meal.

Wine drinkers – particularly those on the red – had higher levels of ‘good’ high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol and performed better in blood tests.
