BMA Scotland invites nominations for council posts

Two GPs elected to the Scottish council of the BMA for the first time have added to a strong female contingent representing the profession for 2011-2014.

Glasgow GP Dr Georgina Brown and Lanarkshire GP Dr Colette Maule have been elected to the council for 2011-2014. With six other female representatives, a total of eight out of 28 council posts filled to date have been taken by women.

One further GP post on the Scottish council remains to be filled, along with a handful of junior doctor and consultant posts. Applications must be completed and returned by 20 April.
