Dr Sheila Cheeroth was awarded an OBE, while Dr David Davidson, Dr Barbara Wynne-Evans, Dr John Grace and Dr Ian McKee were all given MBEs.
Dr Cheeroth was recognised for her work with refugee doctors, as co-ordinator of the Refugee Doctor Project and author of training papers and guidelines for refugee doctors. She works in Limehouse, east London.
Dr Davidson was awarded the MBE for the 'Have a Heart Paisley' project.
The Scottish Executive launched it in October 2000 as one of four pilot sites aimed at reducing heart disease.
The citations for Dr Wynne-Evans from Rhyader, Powys, Dr Grace from Rochester, Kent, and Dr McKee from Edinburgh all simply say 'services to healthcare'.
