Audio: Health thinktank calls for slowdown on integrated care plans for the NHS

The rush to create new models of integrated care as part of the NHS reforms has been criticised by the head of a leading health thinktank.



Breaking down barriers between healthcare professionals in primary and secondary care is emerging as a key part of the reforms, to deliver a seamless service focused on the needs of patients.

But Professor Chris Ham, chief executive of The Kings Fund, has warned GP commissioners against the ‘wrong type of integration’ and called for more time to be spent thinking through the implications of any changes.
