Advice on influenza pandemic published

The Cabinet Office has published introductory advice to help employers raise awareness of pandemic influenza among their staff.

Avian flu

This latest advice is part of a series of documents produced by the government [http://www.ukresilience.info] to help employers, particularly ‘Guidance on contingency planning for a possible influenza pandemic’ and the ‘Pandemic influenza checklist for businesses.’

General information on an influenza pandemic and its impact, including the nationwide contingency plan, can also be found online.

The short document provides background information including the distinction between seasonal and avian flu, key planning and general advice if you have flu and how to avoid catching flu.
