95% of practices summary care record compatible by April

Just 5% of practice IT systems will still be incompatible with the summary care record systems by April, according to health minister Ben Bradshaw.

He told the House of Commons that three practice IT systems had already been used to create summary care records at early adopter PCTs. A fourth is expected to achieve compatibility by April.

‘These four suppliers represent 95% of all GP care systems in use throughout England,’ he said on Monday.
Mr Bradshaw added that, although other suppliers ‘are making progress... no firm timelines exist for their systems to achieve compatibility at this stage.’
