White working class ‘not going to medical school’

White working class youngsters are still not going to medical school, despite the government’s efforts to widen access.

Chris McManus, professor of psychology and medical education at University College, London, says 91 per cent of students on the extended medical degree programme (EMDP) at King's College London are from ethnic minorities.

Students on the EMDP programme only need three Cs at A-level instead of 2As and a B.
