The videos include information on inhaler techniques, cervical screening and blood sugar testing. The practice is also using the site to fight the closure of a local hospital.

Dr Richard Walters told Ping Wales, the Welsh IT news website: ‘We practice in a very rural area. Public transport is poor. Journey times to cities are long.

‘A large part of our time is spent getting information over to patients. Podcasting is a natural progression.

‘We are not professional filmmakers and just use simple home movie equipment and an editing programme,’ he added

‘Our practice nurses do enjoy filmmaking. Really, they are using the same skills in front of camera as they do every day in the consultation.’
