Your views: Vanguards can help GPs to work smarter

This allows primary care to think outside the box and help innovate (NHS England reveals £200m vanguard areas trialling NHS integration, GPonline, 11 March).

I work seven clinical surgeries a week and see that the traditional model is facing unprecedented pressures from high demand and increasing workload.

Given the added problem of GP recruitment and reductions in contract values, we cannot carry on the way we are. I am stressed with the current system, like most.

I welcome the vanguards and hope we can learn from smarter ways of working soon. It is better for primary care to develop new models, rather than being told what to do by those not in the know. So this should be good for primary care.
