Your views: Pharmacists are an asset to the practice and GPs

Pharmacists are a wonderful asset to the work we do (GPs should employ army of pharmacists to ease pressure, says RCGP, GPonline, 17 March).

We employ two pharmacists, both innovative, who take a lead in our medicines management and shared decision-making. They have made a huge difference to the practice.

I find them an excellent resource for myself and our trainees. They have a deep and extensive knowledge of medicines and use this in a very tailored, holistic manner.

I think most practices would definitely benefit from this, particularly where polypharmacy is a major problem, for example, in the elderly.
