Video: Juniors must win for all health workers, says striking GP trainee

If the government beats junior doctors in the ongoing contract dispute, other healthcare workers could face similar employment changes, a striking GP trainee has warned.

Speaking to GPonline from the Royal London Hospital picket line Dr Clare Andrews said there was no other option than for juniors to win their fight.

If the government's proposed contract changes are implemented, she said, 'we worry about what's going to happen to nurses and the rest of the healthcare professions'.

'I think if we don't win this there's not much hope for a lot of other poeple,' she added. 'I don't know if we'll win but I really, really hope we do.'

The BMA has said that thousands of junior doctors joined strike action at 160 pickets across England.
