Video: GMC chairman Professor Sir Peter Rubin on revalidation

In an exclusive video for GPonline.com, GMC chairman Professor Sir Peter Rubin explains how revalidation will work and offers tips on how GPs can get through the process.

Professor Rubin defended the GMC from GPC claims that it was not doing enough to address ‘enhanced appraisal’. He said the way that appraisals were conducted was an employer issue, and not something for the GMC to deal with.

Professor Rubin also revealed to GP that he would be one of the first doctors to be revalidated, having ‘volunteered’ to take part in July 2013.

He said he planned to share his experience of the process with colleagues and that he hoped other leaders in the profession would follow suit.
