UK swine flu cases rise to 101

The number of confirmed cases of swine flu in the UK has now reached 101, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has said.

A total of 14 patients in England tested positive for A(H1N1) over the weekend.

There are six adults and eight children among the new confirmed cases in the east of England region, London and the south east region.

A further 155 cases across the UK are currently being investigated by HPA.

Meanwhile, the 62nd session of the WHO assembly is to take place in Geneva this week.

WHO officials will meet to discuss pandemic influenza preparedness and the production of a swine flu vaccine.
